此项工程的设计原则：

污水处理工艺的选择
生活污水溶解性CODcr与BOD5均较高，BOD:COD的比值>0.4，宜采用生化处理工艺。生化处理工艺具有以下优点：
处理；
运行费用低；
产泥量少，不产生二次污染。
生化处理工艺主要有厌氧处理工艺、水解酸化工艺和好氧处理工艺。

节能设计
污水处理站的吨水能耗受到很多因素的影响，如原水水质情况、地理位置、处理工艺流程等。目前山东地区能耗指标大体相当于国内平均水平。
1） 污水泵采用不阻塞型潜污泵，其工作效率大多可达80%以上，其他水泵，节省了运转电耗。
2） 在水力计算中，力求，在良好运行条件的基础上，减少不必要的水头损失，降低水泵工作扬程，以节省常年运行费用。

安装、调试、试运和验收
设备由我方安装、调试、运行和维修。我方现场技术人员进行整个工程的安装、调试并对重要工序签字确认。
安装调试过程中，若因我方技术原因出现的问题，我方承担责任。
为使设备与设备的连接，将设备安装的更良好，利于运行，我方严格按照批准图纸上所标位置与高度，将设备安装在预定位置。我方在开始设备安装前，核对设备部件安装处理的构筑物尺寸，需作调整的提交业主批准。
