哥窑，是文献中记载的宋代五大名窑之一。传世哥窑的器型主要有八方杯、炉、洗、盘、碗、罐、瓶等，哥窑瓷器显著的特征是釉面有网状开片，或重叠犹如冰裂纹，或成细密小开片(俗称"百圾碎"或"鱼子纹")，以"金丝铁线"为典型，即较粗疏的黑色裂纹交织着细密的金黄色裂纹。少数还具有"紫口铁足"特征。宋代哥窑瓷器胎质坚实致密，由于其胎料中含有较多的铁质和其他金属杂质，故胎体多呈紫黑色、铁黑色或黄棕色。哥窑器的釉属于失透的乳浊釉，釉色主要有灰青色、砂米黄、浅灰青等，以灰青色为多。有的釉层很厚，厚处甚至与胎的厚度相等，使器物的外观圆润饱满。釉内含有气泡，如珠隐现，有"聚沫攒珠"般的美韵。
