聚醚醚酮(PEEK)树脂是一种性能的特种工程塑料，与其他特种工程塑料相比具有更多显著优势，耐正高温260度、机械性能、自润滑性好、耐化学品腐蚀、阻燃、耐 剥离性、耐磨不耐强硝酸、抗辐射、具有很强的机械性能可用于的机械和航空等科技。
PEEK发展的历史仅为几十年，目前开始在电子电器、机械、 运输及 宇航等领域受到重视与应用。在电子电器行业中主要应用于电线、磁导线包覆、高温接线柱、极限版及挠性印刷电路板等。短纤维增强的PEEK可以制作轴承保持器、凸轮、飞操纵杆等。
PEEK还可以职称长纤维增强的复合材料，英国ICI公司已经推出商品化的PEEK树脂基的复合增强材料，用于制作直升飞机的尾翼等结构件。
PEEK可以挤出成型的特点，可以挤出高强度的单丝，具有优良的耐化学药品性、耐热性，适于制造化工设备中的过滤器部件；挤出的高强度膜经硫酸磺化后，可以用作离子膜，PEEK吹塑成型的容器，可以用来装运核反应堆的废料，这种容器耐腐蚀、耐辐射、质轻而安全可靠。
PEEK阻燃性好，不加阻燃级可以达到V-1或V-0级，而且燃烧时发烟少，毒气少。综合PEEK的耐高温、耐腐蚀、电绝缘性能及机械强度高、耐辐射及阻燃等性能，它又是宇航领域应用的新材料。
