化学稳定性：二硫化钼抗腐蚀性很强，除硝酸，王水，沸腾盐酸，浓硫酸，纯氧，氟，氯有腐蚀外，其他酸，碱，化学制品不起作用。
热稳定性：二硫化钼热稳定性很好，熔点在1185℃。在大气中-184-399℃范围内，均可良好的润滑性能。
抗极压性能：二硫化钼的抗极压性能很高，是其他润滑材料不可比拟的，它可在20000千克\平方厘米压力条件下仍可使用，普通润滑油脂在高压力下，油膜产生破裂，造成金属熔接。
附着力：二硫化钼对金属附着力较强。
